This course is ideal if you have an interest in developing skills in understanding and using computers within business organisations and wish to gain a Level 2 qualification in IT.

Code is the language of the modern world. Whether it's the app that brings emails to a mobile or the car that knows how many miles to go until refuelling. Any smart device needs code instructions to tell it how to operate and communicate with the world. This course focuses on the job role of a software practitioner across a range of sectors including website creation, mobile applications and games creation. You will explore programming languages and the contexts in which these may be used.

You will only need basic college stationery for this course. There will be a trip arranged during your course and we recommend that all students participate. The cost of the trip is approximately £35.

Units are internally assessed Units are externally moderated through assignments All units are assessed with course work which is graded, and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded.

After successful completion of this course at Pass Grade you may want to consider progressing onto 1 of the following courses offer at Northampton College:

To progress onto either of the courses above you need to achieve GCSE Mathematics at Grade 4 (C) and English GCSE at Grade 3 (D).
